ERA ENERGY PROJECTS

The Cumberland Energy Center is a proposed natural gas facility that will operate around the clock to reliably power 750,000 homes and businesses in Central Virginia.​

The Energy Reliability Alliance supports Virginia's Joshua Falls to Yeat Transmission Project as critical energy infrastructure needed to meet Virginia’s growing energy demand and strengthen grid reliability. Visit the project website here for more information.

The Chesterfield Energy Reliability Center is a proposed natural gas power station that will generate 1,000 megawatts of new, reliable energy for Virginia homes and businesses during periods of high demand.

Brent Archer

Founding Member, Energy Reliability Alliance

​

Brent Archer is a founding member of the Energy Reliability Alliance (ERA) with more than 38 years in the energy industry across natural gas production, interstate transmission, and utility distribution.

 

From 2015 to 2023, he served as president and chief operating officer of Columbia Gas of Virginia, leading more than 500 employees serving 290,000 customers statewide. He now leads Archer Consulting Services, advising on regulatory and legislative policy, emerging energy technologies, and stakeholder engagement.

Brent has served on the boards of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Business Council, and Team Virginia, and as past president of the Virginia Oil and Gas Association. He is currently Secretary of the Board of Visitors at Christopher Newport University. He holds a bachelor's degree from Marshall University and an MBA from West Virginia University.
